Dr. Doug Williams has been practicing ophthalmology since July 1987 at the Williams Eye Institute in Hammond, Indiana. During his medical career, he has performed thousands of small incision cataract procedures with lens implantation.
Graduating with honors (cum laude/Phi Beta Kappa) from the University of Illinois, Dr. Williams later earned his Doctor of Medicine degree with honors (Alpha Omega Alpha) from the University of Chicago. He then completed his internship at Mercy Hospital in San Diego, California and a three year residency in ophthalmology at the University of Illinois Eye and Ear Infirmary in Chicago.
A board-certified ophthalmologist, Dr. Williams also is a member of the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery and the American Academy of Ophthalmology.
