Had cataract surgery in 2022. They are swamped with bookings and the appointment was weeks out. When I got there I mentioned that I had a stent put in about a year earlier. About 5 mins before my surgery, they told me that they wouldn't do it without permission from my cardiologist. My cardiologist was surprised at this and has never been asked to permit a simple eye procedure. I was confused as well, as they never asked about medical history prior to me getting there. Nonetheless, about a couple months later I go back in for the surgery. They give you some meds to "make you comfortable". Well it doesn't make it completely comfortable, and when I told Dr. Williams that it hurt, he didn't believe me, and told that it would only be a few more minutes and kept working. Afterwards, my eye hurt and had a lot of pressure built up in it, and I was not able to see clear for weeks. After complaining that something was not right, he took exception to the criticism, and sent me to another doctor that could treat the pressure better than he could. That doctor was able to relieve the pressure with just meds. After the pressure issue subsided, I went to my optometrist and found out that the lens they put in was not the correct strength and was not giving me the corrected eyesight we agreed on. I was told that my vision would NOT have changed over the course of just a few months so we assume it was just a bad vision test prior to the surgery. So now I have to wear contacts even in the eye they were supposed to fix.
